PROFILE

Hanni focuses her practice mostly on workers’ compensation matters in Maine and New Hampshire, representing the interests of employers and insurance carriers. Prior to merging with NHD in 2025, Hanni practiced for several years at Thompson Bowie & Hatch LLC.

Before joining TB&H, Hanni served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Donald G. Alexander, Associate Justice of the Maine Supreme Judicial Court. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Maine School of Law. While a student at Maine Law, Hanni was a student-attorney at the Refugee and Human Rights Clinic, working on asylum and special immigrant juvenile status cases. She was the recipient of the National Association of Women Lawyers Outstanding Law Student Award, as well as the Pro Bono Publico Award. Also during law school, she completed an externship with the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Maine.

Hanni has been recognized as a New England Super Lawyers Rising Star for 2023-2025.

Hanni earned her B.A. in Criminology from the University of Southern Maine, where she graduated cum laude. Hanni was born in Finland, but has lived in Maine most of her life and currently resides in Cumberland Foreside with her husband and son.
